River Spirit Casino March 2025

This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sparta Gala 2025: Neon Nights at River Spirit Casino—and, wow, what a night!

Led by the amazing Krista Sessions, this year’s gala was a vibrant celebration full of heart, color, and community. Thanks to Krista’s vision and leadership, along with an incredible team of volunteers, the night came to life in the most unforgettable way. These folks gave their time, energy, and passion—and because of them, this event not only dazzled but also raised $260,000 to support Bixby Public Schools. 💙

Put on by the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation (BEEF), the gala was packed with glowing fun: live jazz from the Bixby Band, electrifying circus acts by Tribe Circus Arts, and stunning live art by Tulsa favorites Chris Mantleand Rebecca Gaines. Their paintings lit up the auction stage—along with some pretty exciting bidding energy!

It Takes a Tribe

The decor was next level, thanks to Lyndsey Slaughter (our creative powerhouse) and Swoon Balloon Party Designs, who created a jaw-dropping photo backdrop. Add in a silent auction, DJ Desire’, and crowd favorites like the Wine Pull, Whiskey Pull, and Heads or Tails—and the night was nonstop fun.

This event was a full-on community effort from sponsors like Ryan Fulda, Emerson Charles, Patriot CDJR, Flintco, and Laura Grunewald & Associates to supporters like Abundant Solutions, Mike Collier, Life Church, and so many others.

And it paid off—big time.

The funds raised go toward innovative teacher grants, scholarships, and classroom needs through both BEEF and Bridge the Gap. These programs are helping shape the future of education in Bixby, and I couldn’t be more honored to help capture that story.
